About The Conference

Faculty of Social Sciences and Faculty of Law at University of Barishal will promote new thinking and explore pressing topics on research, policy and practices addressing social and legal problems. Over the two days, a number of speakers are supposed to present different perspectives on topical issues impacting social and legal problems. Each talk will open up difficult and challenging conversations on how our societies are affected by social and legal problems and how those should be addressed. The key note speech will be delivered on ‘Law and People on the Margins of Society’ by Professor Abhijit Dasgupta. He is a Professor of Sociology at Delhi University. He obtained his D.Phil degree from University of Sussex, U.K. He is a member of Advisory Committee of Gobind Pant Institute of Himalayan Environment & Development, Uttarakhand, India. Agrarian relations, population displacement and sociology in South Asia are his especial field of interest.

Submit Abstract

Abstracts of original research works are invited from academia, researchers, practitioners, activists and students on the conference topics. Once the abstract is accepted after a review process, at least one of the authors must register for the conference if s/he wants to present the paper at the conference. Abstracts of all accepted contributors will be published in the conference proceedings which will be distributed to all registered conference participants.
